Govt to take over Paripally ESI Medical college

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Parippally ESI Medical College has come under the possession of State government. “Though it was decided in principle earlier to take over the college, the cabinet has decided to take over the college after completing all official procedures,” Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said on Wednesday. 

The ESI corporation had put forward certain instructions regarding the take-over of the college and the government is getting ready to follow all those instructions. All necessary decisions including that on the continuation of current facilities will be taken after proper analysis of the facts.   

Though it was earlier informed that the government would take over the ESI Medical college, procedures for the same was dragged on. The cabinet again considered the matter, when it came up for discussions again.   

Meanwhile, the Cabinet has decided to appoint S Venugopal as the Electricity Regulatory commission of BSNL. A former Finance director, he is currently KSEB Ltd Finance director.
