ALAPPUZHA: Two persons were killed when a car and a lorry collided in the district. The two dead has been identified as Vinod (33), son of Vijaya Kumar of Sreekaryam and Preethi (30) of Pongummoodu.
Preethi’s mother Usha (58), who sustained serious injuries, has been admitted at a private hospital in Cherthala. The accident happened at Kalavoor Block Junction on the national highway at 6.15 am Wednesday morning.
The car proceeding to Kodungalloor from the capital city collided with the lorry which was going to Kollam. The WagonR Car was completely damaged in the accident. Vinod, a KSRTC driver, died on the spot itself. Preethi and Usha were on their way to the Kodungalloor Temple.
