Sexual harassment case should be filed against UDF MLAs: Balakrishna Pillai

KOZHIKODE: Kerala Congress (B) chairman R Balakrishna Pillai has said that sexual harassment case should be filed against ruling Front MLAs for humiliating women MLAs in the Assembly.

“The Speaker who took action only against the Opposition was behaving in a biased manner,” he said at a press conference here.

He said he would not give evidence against Finance Minister K M Mani in the bar bribery case. “When Chief Minster and Home Minister say that Mani has not taken bribe, what is the use of giving the evidence,” Pillai quipped.

“Pointing out the corruption committed by Mani, I had sent a letter to the chief minister but he didn’t even acknowledge it. It looks like the chief minister doesn’t want another Congress man to sit in the chair he is sitting. In the case of corruption in the UDF, there are bigger sharks than Mani. High level corruption committed in the name of National Games and crores of rupees was given to institutions which had no connection with National Games. Fridges bought for the Games are lying unused and intact in sealed packs. Rs 4 crore was given to a Tennis club, which didn’t conduct Games,” Pillai alleged.

“In the Palakkad LokSabha constituency, Congress defeated M P Veerendra Kumar through crossover voting. Congress didn’t even go to stick posters for Veeran. Even Johny Nellore, a small party leader was also betrayed. An attempt was also made to betray Mani, but in vain,” he added.
