Challenging rule of law for Mani, says Kodiyeri

KOTTAYAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is challenging the rule of law to protect Finance Minister K M Mani, who isfacing bribery charges in the bar scam, said CPI (M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

Addressing a meet the press programme at the Kottayam Press Club, Kodiyeri said the chief minister is protecting the tainted minister after fearing the fall of the government.

Not only the LDF but some from the UDF also want Mani to resign. There is disruption in the functioning of the government which is neck deep in corruption. Those seeking the resignation of Mani can partake in the collectorate and secretariat protests to be staged by the LDF on April 22.

A report on opposition leader V S Achuthanandan attending the party programme in Mannar violating the ban has been sought. He said that he cannot react based on the news.
