Case can be taken based on Bijimol’s complaint

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has got the legal advice that case can be charged against Minister Shibu Baby John based on CPI MLA Bijimol’s complaint that she was humiliated by the minister on the budget presentation day.

The advice came from the government pleader. Bijimol had earlier lodged a complaint with the DGP in this regard. The pleader also said that case could also be filed against M A Vahid MLA and Kozhikode DCC president K C Abu for their “outrageous comments”.

The pleader said the police would have to file a case and there was no other way before it. It also advised the government to take further action in consultation with the Speaker. If the official makes any flaw in taking action, he could get a jail term of at least six months.

Bijimol has requested the police in her complaint to file case under provisions such as humiliating womanhood and outraging the modesty of woman.
