KODUNGALLUR: Four persons were killed and six sustained injuries when a gas tanker and a Tata Sumo collided near Kalamuri on national highway 17 at Kaipamangalam late last night. The dead has been identified as Bineesh (23), son of Saji of Wayanad, Shainath Thomas (24) of Paral, Sujith (28), son of Mohanan of Perumbavoor and Muhammed Shah (27) of Methala. The condition of two is stated to be serious.
The accident happened when Bineesh along with his friends were on their way to see off his brother Saneesh at the airport in a Tata Sumo. They were engaged in biriyani business. The team was to reach the Nedumbassery airport at 1 am Wednesday morning. Both the vehicles were over speeded. The local residents and the police conducted rescue operations after hearing the cries of the passengers.
