Chennithala, Adoor Prakash framed Mani, says KC(M) report

Kochi: The Kerala congress (M) which conducted a party-level enquiry into the bar bribery allegations against K M Mani has found high-level conspiracy into the matter. It named Chennithala, P C George, Adoor Prakash, Joseph Vazhakkan among others in the report and stated they were involved in the conspiracy and even former Chief  Minister Oommen Chandy was in the known of things.
The investigative report prepared by the KC(M) also hints that R Balakrishna Pillai, SP R Sukeshen (who investigated the bar bribery case), bar owner Biju Ramesh were part of the conspiracy at various levels. Their aim was to destroy the Kerala Congress(M) and K M Mani,  Chennithala , Jacob Thomas, Joseph Vazhakkan, P C George had held a meet at an advocate's place in Poonjar and planned to conspire against K M Mani to frame him in the bar case.
The report stated that advocate general Dhandapani played the role of 'Sakuni'. Chennithala's main aim was to isolate Mani and through this he was eyeing the CM's chair. Joseph Vazhakkan wanted to be a mass leader in Pala. Vazhkan, who was close to Congress leader M M Jacob, planned to capture the  mass crowd of the Christian community. Jacob, who contested and tasted defeat from the region twice, nurtured a vengeance against Mani
The KC(M) had quit the UDF based on the findings of the investigative report by the party. The KC(M) continuing in the UDFfold will hold no good for the party, the report categorically stated, If Mani had quit before the elections, then the complete onus of defeat would rest with the party, The 71-page report has come down heavily against the congress party and its leaders.
Chennithala was also well aware that Biju Ramesh would at any time come out with allegations.  When Jacob Thomas was in service, the irregularities probed by him and action taken was what prompted Chennithala to go against Mani. The evidence against Jacob Thomas was also included in the report. Chennithala had come to the help of Jacob Thomas several times. He had also promised to offer Sukhesan the SP's post but at a certain point of time, both broke up
The probe commission headed by C F Thomas investigated the conspiracy angle in the bar bribery allegations and submitted the report. Francis George' P T Jose Antony Raju, were members of the commission
