13 Sabarimala pilgrims injured in accident

ERUMELI: As many as 13 Sabarimala pilgrims from Karnataka, who were returning after darshan, met with an accident when their vehicle overturned at Karinkallumuzhi slope along Erumeli-Pamba route. The accident happened at around 3 pm on Monday.

The injured, hailing from Karnataka’s Cheenadurga, have been admitted to Kottayam medical college and Kanjirappaly General hospital.

The pilgrims, identified as Raghu (25) Kamba Swami (12), Jagadeesh (29), Kalesh (30), Gurumoorthy (35), and Ningappa (28), have been admitted to Kottayam medical college with serious injuries, the police have said. Persons admitted in the Kanjirappally General hospital are Santhosh(27), Hanumanth (28) Vassuvaraj (16), Vasuvaraj (37), Veeresh (28), Venkitesh (23), and Sunil (25).
