Allow entry for women at Sabarimala: Shashi Tharoor

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Union Minister and MP Shashi Tharoor has said that all women should be allowed to enter Sabarimala temple. He said it was his personal opinion.

Tharoor was speaking to media after taking part in the KPCC executive meeting presided by Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday.

Tharoor said it was not right to show discrimination on the basis of caste and gender while allowing entry for a person in temples. His remark comes after the UDF government submitting a new affidavit in the Supreme Court that sought to retain the present ban on women between 10 and 50 years at Sabarimala.
