CPM wants polls to be conducted in April

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM Thursday requested the election commission to conduct the assembly polls in April itself. CPM central committee member Thomas Isaac said that it is better to conduct the polls by the last week of April itself and said they don’t agree extending it to May. The CPM clarified their stand in the talks held by the central election commission with the political parties of the state.

The CPM requested the commission to take steps to prevent the BJP and the congress from influencing the voters. Meantime, the congress suggested the polls can be conducted by the end of April or the first week of May. Thampanoor Ravi attended the talks on behalf of the congress.
