Jayarajan’s anticipatory bail plea postponed to Wednesday

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court postponed to Wednesday considering the anticipatory bail plea of CPM district secretary P Jayarajan, who has been made an accused in the Kathiroor Manoj murder case.

Meanwhile Manoj’s brother filed a plea in the court asking not to grant bail to Jayarajan.

Jayarajan moved the court last week stating that he was made an accused in the case due to political animosity. His plea pointed charging Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) on him was illegal and that he was made an accused in the absence of evidence. He approached the high court after a similar plea filed before the Thalassery sessions court was dismissed.

Meantime, the CBI will arrest him if his bail plea is rejected. The decision of the CBI is to arrest him soon after the high court verdict. Jayarajan is undergoing treatment at the Pariyaram Medical College for some health problems. A report of his health details has been produced in the court.

RSS activist Manoj was murdered at Kathiroor in Kannur on September 1st in 2014. Manoj was hacked to death after hurling bomb at him.
