THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The opposition LDF Friday boycotted the customary policy address marking the beginning of the assembly’s budget session.
The opposition members created a commotion as soon as Governor Justice P Sathasivam arrived to address the assembly in the morning at 9 am. The opposition members reached the assembly with placards and banners seeking the ouster of corrupted ministers.
Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan requested the governor to withdraw from delivering the policy address. However, the governor requested to allow him to fulfil his constitutional duties. The governor asked the opposition to go out of the assembly if not permitting him to do his duty. He said that he will deliver the speech even if the opposition protests. He said that in future the opposition will face the same situation. Following that, the LDF boycotted the assembly proceedings shouting slogans.
