Liquor sales touch Rs 410 cr during Onam season

Thiruvananthapuram: Liquor sales in the state during the Onam season this year has recorded an increase of 16 percent compared to the same period last year.
Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 409.55 crore was sold through the outlets of Kerala State Beverages Corporation (Bevco) in the last eight days.
Last year, liquor worth Rs353.08 crore was sold during the same period.
Liquor worth Rs 532 crore was sold from September 1 until September 13(Uthradom day) Liquor worth Rs58.01 crore was sold on the Uthradam day last year.
Irinjalakuda bagged the top spot in terms of the liquor on Uthradam day. Liquor worth Rs 53.84 lakh was sold through the Bevco outlets here.
The Bevco outlets at Chalakudy, which had bagged the top spot in liquor sales on Uthradom day last year, this time recorded a sale of Rs 40 lakh.
