Job will be given to Ullas’ wife: Govt

ALUVA: The cabinet has decided to give a job in a public sector unit to Arathy, the wife of Ullas (29), who drowned in Periyar river during his attempt to save an Ayyappa devotee from another state.

Though Ullas a resident of West Kadungallur Mailakkara died Nov 24 last year, the Cabinet considered his case only on Wednesday. Kerala Kaumudi had given a news report on Ullas’s sacrifice following SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellapally Natesan’s remark that the government was biased in the case of extending help to  victims of tragedies. The report was also a hit on Kerala Kaumudi’s Fb page.

Ullas’ demise happened just four months after his marriage. At that time his wife was also two and a half-month pregnant. She later gave birth to a baby girl.
