THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has informed the media that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who reached Thiruvananthapuram airport on the last leg of Kerala visit, on Tuesday, was apprised of Kerala’s various needs.
During the brief meeting at the airport, the chief minister submitted Rs 625 crore master plan for Sabarimala to the prime minister. Demand was made for a smart city in Kerala. Chandy requested the Centre to intervene in the fall of rubber/coconut prices.
The prime was informed about Kerala’s demand for relaxation in Coastal Zone Regulation rules and conditions in Kasturi Rangan reports. Mullaperiyar issue, need to begin gas pipeline construction, completion of Sabari railway line were also brought to Modi’s notice.
Modi, who touched the airport at around 6 pm by a special helicopter, was received by the chief minister and other ministers, who held a 20-minute meeting with the prime minister at the airport. After this scheduled programme, the prime left for New Delhi.
