KOZHIKODE: Ernakulam district has almost confirmed the crown in the 59th State school athletic meet. Palakkad is in the second place.
Among the schools, Kothamangalam Mar Basil School are the champions. Basil regained the top position by defeating Parali HSS by just five points in a neck and neck race.
Basil garnered 91 points and Parali won 86 points. Mar Basil medal position is nine gold, 12 silver and seven bronze. Parali got 13 gold, six silver and eight bronze. Last year Basil lost the crown for just one point and it regained crown today with the help of the silver won by Anumol in 800 metre race.
