DGP Jacob Thomas lashes out at govt

KOCHI: DGP Jacob Thomas, who has been at loggerheads with the Oommen Chandy government, has lashed at them yet again.  The decision of the home department to conduct a crime branch probe against vigilance SP Sukesan in the bar bribery case, will demoralize the police force. There are two types of justice in the state now. Talking to reporters here, he said some are getting special consideration.

There are some rules to be followed in a case. Before submitting a final report to the court, permission should be sought from them to conduct raids. Then, if any errors happen from the side of the investigating official in a case which is under the consideration of the court, then steps has to be taken by the court. It is not right for someone else to intervene and take action.

If any irrational actions occur from government’s side, thenthe morale of not only police but any institution will be badly affected.Sukesan is an efficient officer, said Thomas.
