THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prices of plastic products will go up as the tax for plastic products has been increased. 20 per cent tax will be levied on plastic products.
The chief minister said during his budget speech that non poly plastic was being extensively used in the State under the guise of cloth bag and hence a decision was taken to increase the tax. Five percent surcharge has also been imposed on cold drink available in plastic bottles.
