Uncertainty in shifting P Jayarajan from Pariyaram

KANNUR: Steps for shifting CPM district secretary P Jayarajan, undergoing treatment at the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital after remanded by the Kerala High Court in the Kathiroor Manoj murder case, to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital will be delayed. It was earlier stated that he would be shifted to Kozhikode yesterday afternoon. The doctor treating him had given a report to the jail authorities mentioning that his health permits him to travel up to Kozhikode.

However, steps are being delayed as order from the home department has not been obtained so far. It has also been alleged that a joint show by the CPM and the home department is the cause of the delay. An ambulance with the facility of ICU from Payyannur reached Pariyaram at 8 am this morning to shift him to Kozhikode.

A large contingent of police led by Thaliparambu DySP Surendran has been deployed in front of Pariyaram. A bomb squad, rapid action force, KAP Battalionare also in the hospital. However, the order of the jail superintendent has not reached the office till 10 am.
