Weather has become sultrier in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The weather has become hotter in Kerala, though February has just started. However, certain nights are very cold.

In the mornings, the heat increases. The dawn starts with 18 degree Celsius and by noon it will be 36 degree.

The National weather forecast says this time the level of heat will be high. As the summer becomes hotter the water holes in the State will start drying up.

Yesterday, the thermometer in Alappuzha and CIAL Kochi touched 36 degree. In Thiruvananthapuram it was 33. 6 ( min 21. 4 ) , Kochi 32. 2 ( 22. 2 ) and Kozhikode 34. 6 ( 22. 5 ) .

But the cold weather being experienced now was not experienced in December and first half of January.

Severe cold was experienced in two three nights between second half of December and January end. Weather expert Dr C K Rajan says it is a usual phenomena to have sporadic cold nights in the abovementioned period.
