THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Renowned Nangiyarkoothu-Koodiyattom artiste Margi Sathi (51) died on Tuesday night. She had been under treatment in RCC for some time and her end happened there.
She had made tremendous contributions in making Koodiyattom a populist art form. She was born in 1965 at Cheruthuruthy in Thrissur as the daughter of Puthillathu Subramanyan Embranthiri and Parvathy Andarjanam.
She started learning Koodiyattom from Kerala Kalamandalam and under Painkulam Ramachakiyar. Later she took lessons in the art form from several others .
She reached Margi in 1988.
Sree Ramacharitham is Sathi's contribution in Nangiyarkoothu.
The late Idakka artiste N Subramanyom was her husband.
