P.K. Gopalan passes away

Kalpetta: I.N.T.U.C state working president P.K. Gopalan passed away at WIMS medical college in Meppadi on Monday. He was 86.
Gopalan has been working as the KPCC executive member, minimum wages board state chairman and as a PLC member.
He was one of the earliest leaders of the trade union movement in Kerala.  Gopalan started his trade union activism by organizing the plantation workers in Wayanad. He has been the leading the  INTUC in the state for several decades.
The body was brought to his residence in Meppadi at 2 am. People from all walks of life arrived to pay tribute to the leader. At 11  am, the body was kept at the DCC office for the public to pay homage. The cremation will take place at 5pm in Meppadi.
