KOCHI: The Kerala High Court Wednesday rejected the plea seeking cancellation of vigilance court’s act ordering a further probe against K M Mani in the bar case. Justice B Kemal Pasha said the plea is rejected and also warned that a hefty fine will be imposed if the valuable time of the court is wasted. Following that, the petitioner Sunny Mathew of Thodupuzha informed the court that he is withdrawing the plea.
The plea was earlier considered by a bench led by Justice B Sudheendra Kumar. Justice Kumar had passed an interim order to issue notice to many including K M Mani to hear a detailed argument in the case and had also asked to produce the records of the vigilance court. The court also directed the investigating officials and those in authoritative posts not to make any statements in the case.
However, the vigilance department had earlier approached the high court for removing the statements against the director in the verdict.
