Attempts are on to make Jayarajan another Madani

KOZHIKODE: CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said CBI has been trying to make CPM leader P Jayarajan, an accused in the Kathiroor Manoj murder case, another Madhani.

Kodiyeri told media persons on Saturday that for not doing any wrong, Madhani had served a jail term of 12 years. “The Congress and RSS have been thinking about putting Jayarajan behind the bars as they did with Madhani and destroy the CPM. But that is not going to work. The CPM has faced worse situations than the present one. The party has survived all those bad tidings. BJP and Congress are now misusing UAPA, a draconian law. A mass upheaval will be seen against this,” he said.

Kodyeri said the government had been attempting to banish CPM leaders, foreseeing the Assembly election. “Those who are thinking about annihilating the party should remember the election of 1965. In the case of Jayarajan, the CBI has not followed the normal legal procedures,” he said.

Kodiyeri said the party was not contemplating on making alliance with the Congress in Bengal. “This has not been included in the party agenda till now. The final decision in this matter will be taken by CPM politburo,” he said.
