HC rejects P Jayarajan’s anticipatory bail plea

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court Thursday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of CPM Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan in the Kathiroor Manoj murder case. A decision bench including Justice K T Shankaran and Justice K P Jyotheendranath rejected his bail plea stating that his position is not an issue and that all are equal before law.

The court rejecting his arguments against UAPA charged on him, said it will exist. The criteria for imposing it is not whether thousands or a single person died. Special consideration cannot be given for being a politician. It was a planned murder.

The court observed that no one else except Jayarajan had a personal enmity towards Manoj. Vikraman, the first accused is a close aide of Jayarajan. He was stabbed till he died. It was a brutal murder that took place.

Meantime the CBI today produced a case diary after marking the parts why he is made an accused.

The CBI had yesterday conveyed to the court yesterday that Jayarajan is the main conspirator and the brain behind the murder case. Jayarajan involved in many criminal cases will be able to subvert the probe after putting the police under pressure.

Jayarajan was made an accused after a probe conducted on the crimes including conspiracy.
