KOZHIKODE: Registering a criminal case against SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan for his controversial hate speech is a biased act, said BJP state president V Muraleedharan.
Talking to reporters here, he said the statements of Vellappally in connection with Noushad, who died while trying to save those trapped in the manhole, was misinterpreted.
Muraleedharan said Vellappally had not degraded Noushad. The government has not provided assistance to many of those dead during rescue operations. Vellappally just questioned the act of the chief minister giving assistance to Noushad. The chief minister announced compensation on the basis of caste and religion. Let those rescuing be a Hindu, Muslim or Christian and if discrimination is shown in the name of religion, then majority of the society in Kerala will oppose it, he said.
