THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is no proof against Excise Minister K Babu in the bar bribery case, said Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala. A detailed investigation was carried on the allegation against Babu. However, nobody has given any statement justifiying the allegations, Chennithala informed the assembly. He said this while replying to the submission raised by the opposition that the case against Babu has been sabotaged.
All the statements obtained against Babu is contradictory. Not only that, the disc given by bar hotel association working president Biju Ramesh, the complainant in the case, has been manipulated. Therefore, it cannot be accepted as an evidence, he said.
The opposition was furious following minister’s reply. The opposition shouted slogans asking the minister to resign. Soon after, they left the assembly.
