ALUVA: The Aluva police Tuesday submitted a FIR against SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan for his controversial hate speech. Three media persons have been made witnesses. The case has been registered as per Section 153 (A)* of IPC based on the complaint of KPCC chief V M Sudheeran against Natesan for allegedly fanning communal sentiments through his speech at a reception accorded to Samatva Munnetta Yatra in Aluva. The complaint was handed over to Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala. Congress MLA T N Prathapan and G Girish of Kalamassery too had lodged a complaint.
The police will examine the video clippings of his speech delivered at the public meet in Manappuram and the press meet held at Periyar Hotel. Statements will be taken from the witnesses and if the allegations are found true then will take a statement from Vellappally, said principal sub inspector P A Faisal.
Vellappally had reportedly stated that there was discrimination on the part of the government in distributing financial aid. He said only Muslims get due assistance from the government when they die and he wished to die as a Muslim to get some benefit.
While referring to the government’s decision to give financial assistance to the family of an auto driver who died while trying to save two workers from a sewage canal in Kozhikde, Natesan said the auto driver’s act was acknowledged because of being a Muslim. He said the government did not consider the families of three school students belonging to Hindu community when they died in an accident last week.
