KASARGOD: The BJP Monday erected a helipad in this northern-most district of Kerala for arrival of its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as the Congress was hesitant to part with the helipad built for landing of its Vice President Rahul Gandhi two days ago.
The new helipad has been prepared at Kasargod Government College ground for Modi as the previous one was dismantled by the Congress ignoring request by security officers of Modi BJP Kasargod district committee.
The District Congress Committee, however, said they were compelled to dismantle it on the advice from the administration as rent and other expenses involved for its maintenance be accrued to election expenditure of party candidate in Kasargod T Siddique.
Modi is arriving here amid tight security tomorrow for campaigning in favour of party candidate in Kasargod, K Surendran.
