THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An IPS officer's role is suspected in the alleged gold smuggling incidents in Sree Padmanabha Swami temple. The demand for a CBI inquiry into the incident, though not officially made, came up after the role of the officer who is in service in the State came to be knowm.
Meanwhile, State intelligence has received the information regarding the IPS officer under cloud of suspicion. . Reports also say that a jewellery shop here with a branch in Tamil Nadu also was involved in the gold smuggling incidents.
It is also alleged that there are ways and tunnels in the temple leading to palaces outside and nearby Shiva Sena office, as well.
