THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president V M Sudheeran has said that he is optimistic about solving the bar licence ‘puzzle’ and he sees a ray of hope in the discussions held on Wednesday. He said he would hold discussions with UDF leaders and arrive at a decision that would protect peoples’ interest, as well.
Sudheeran was talking to media persons after his meeting with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala.
“In the UDF meeting to be held on May 20, a consensus will be reached. Before that informal discussions will be held in the UDF,” said Sudheeran.
The KPCC president said, “the former LDF government cannot wash their hands of their mistakes vis a vis the liquor policy and hence they have no right to criticise UDF’s policy. It is also there in the responsibilities of the UDF to correct LDF’s mistakes.”
