Shaktan didn’t campaign actively for Tharoor: DCC

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The DCC has noted that there had been slight leakage of the Congress’ traditional votes in the Lok Sabha polls that recently got over in the State. It happened in Thirvananthapuram, Kazhakoottam, Vattiyoorkavu assembly constituencies. And, those who benefited from the leakage were the BJP candidates.

The report concluded that N Shaktan MLA hadn’t campaigned actively for Thiruvananthapuram candidate Shashi Tharoor. The reason behind this was that the MLA was sore over the fact that he was denied a minister’s chair.
His campaign was based on community-based and he didn’t campaign strongly in places like Nemom and Kattakada.

Despite these developments, the DCC feels that the party would manage to win the Thiruvananthapuram seat. Last year Tharoor had won the seat by a margin of 1 lakh votes. DCC also hopes that Attingal UDF candidate Bindu would win the election.
