VITHURA: A mini bus that was going towards Ponmudi from Kollam overturned into a gorge, injuring 36 passengers on board the bus. The condition of 21 persons is serious.
The incident happened at 9:30 in the morning. The bus overturned at the 21st curve near Kulathikkara Estate. However, since the bus turned over to the tea plantation just below and remained stuck there, further tragedy was averted.
Those who travelled in the bus were the staff and students of Sunday school of Kollam Miyannoor MG church
.
All of them have been shifted to Vithura community centre. 21 passengers who got severely injured were shifted to Medical college hospital and Nedumangadu District hospital.
Police men, fire force personnel, local residents and passers-by rushed to carry out the rescue work.
