THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Though there were suggestions for compromise talks on bar licence issue, today’s meeting between KPCC president V M Sudheeran and Excise Minister K Babu failed to reach the target.
While Excise minister K Babu and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy have one stand, Sudheeran has taken a different view. Both parties are reportedly firm on their stance and unwilling to relent.
As suggested by the chief minister, Babu met Sudheeran on Monday, but their discussions failed to break the deadlock. Revealing this to the media, Sudheeran said he would be meeting the chief minister and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Wednesday.
The general opinion is that the UDF will not discuss the issue until a consensus is reached on it in the Congress.
