CBI’s FIR leaves out Salim Raj’s name

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In its First Investigation Report on Kalamassery/Kadakampally land scam, which was filed on Friday, the CBI has not included the name of the chief minister’s former gunman, Salim Raj, among the accused.

Thrikkakara Village officer and assistant Village officers are the first and second accused respectively. The Thiruvananthapuram unit of the CBI is investigating the case.

In the Revenue department’s enquiry, it was found that an attempt has been made to grab 44.5 acre land under the survey number 18. In the Thandaper register 10156 page was found to have torn off and a new one was created with the number 3587. Double title deeds were given to 1.5 acre land.

According to the case, Salim Raj’s brother-in-law Abdul Majeed and brothers tried to grab the Rs 25-crore worth land of N A Shereef from Thrikkakkara Pathadipalam. It is alleged that the fraud was committed with the connivance of Salin Raj’s wife, a staff of Revenue Commissioner office.
