Woman dies in accident

VITHURA: One woman was killed and nine sustained injuries when the vehicle in which they were travelling overturned after losing control at Ramanathapuram near Mathura in Tamil Nadu early Monday morning. The incident happened when the team was on a pilgrimage tour to Velankanni from Aanappara.

The dead has been identified as Baby, wife of Thankayyan of Aanappara. The 10-member team left for Velankanni last night.

Sources said the tempo traveller lost control when it tried to swerve the vehicle so as not to hit the bike which came from the opposite direction. The body of Baby is kept at the mortuary of Thiruvathanai Hospital. The injured has been admitted at the Ramanathapuram Hospital. Sathykumar, Rajan and Sunil Kumar are Baby’s children.
