Mani issue will be taken up after civic polls: Sudheeran

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president V M Sudheeran has said that the high power committee will take up issues related to Finance Minister K M Mani after the civic polls gets over. “We shall also discuss matters to expand the populist base of the Front  and will go ahead with the goal of making the political and public scene beneficial to the people of Kerala.”

When asked whether Mani shouldn’t have resigned following the court verdict, he said the matter would be discussed by a meeting of office bearers and the high power committee meeting to be convened on November 10 and 11 respectively.

Reiterating his optimism on a better civic poll result for the UDF, he said Kannur DCC will take legal action against election presiding officers who had remained mute spectators to the incidents of bogus voting and threatening of booth agents.

He added that timely intervention of police preempted several incidents of violence in Kannur.
