KOCHI: The Kerala High Court directed the state government employees to be present in offices on national holidays. The court directed the government to strictly implement the order. The court passed the order on the plea of Nimisha, a native of Kochi.
The plaintiff argued in the court that none of the government employees are partaking in Republic Day parades and Independence Day celebrations on January 26 and August 15. When parades are held in the national level, the employees take part in it, her plea said. The court approved it and passed the directive.
The order is applicable to all government employees and employees of local self-governing bodies, said the court.
