THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan will file a plea in the vigilance court seeking arraignment of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in the sensational Pattoor land deal case. VS will directly file the plea. When Jacob Thomas was the vigilance DGP, he had submitted a report mentioning the role of the chief minister in the Pattoor land deal. However, the court was of the stand that the report was unnecessary.
Jacob Thomas’ report submitted to the government had found 15 officials’ including collector Biju Prabhakar and former collector, guilty of corruption, favouritism and illegalities.A private construction company was found to have encroached 30 cents of land. Construction work was carried in 24 cents. The 24-page report had also mentioned the names of Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, who had the charge of revenue department then, former chief secretary E K Bharat Bhooshan and former additional chief secretary Nivedita P Haran. The vigilance court however said the report does not contain the names of any
