First Maraud murder case: HC cancels penalty of 12 convicts
KOCHI: Kerala High Court has cancelled the sentence against 12 convicts in the Marad murder case. But the court upheld the sentencing of the second and 14th convicts.
The incident related to the case took place in 2002 in connection with New Year celebrations. The violence resulted in the killing of three Hindus and two Muslims. At that time, 393 people from various political parties were arrested.
