KANNUR: Departmental action has been initiated against 72 policemen who failed to turn up for providing security to SNDP yogam general secretary's Samatva Munnetta yatra.
The penal action has been taken against policemen attached to Kannur A R camp. The action includes seven days’ additional parade.
On the other hand, the policemen said they had not got instructions from their superiors regarding the security assignment. They also alleged that they were paying the price for their senior officer's apathy.
