KOZHIKODE: Kanthapuram A. P. Aboobacker Musalyar has come out with public comments against gender equality. He said equal status for men and women was against the principles of Islam. “Gender equality was against human conscience,” he said at a programme in Kozhikode on Saturday.
“Women can only give birth to their children and the power to control the universe lies in the hands of men. Gender equality is something that is never going to happen. Moreover, women lacks the strength and guts,” said Kanthapuram, who asked whether there was any lady doctor who dared to conduct a heart surgery.
Kanthapuram also rejected the allegations that sexual harassment took place in madrasas. He said those who make allegations should present evidence.
