Show cause notice served on Jacob Thomas

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Fire Force DGP Jacob Thomas today received a show cause notice from the government, asking him to explain the reason why he made controversial comments in connection with the bar bribery case.

Chief Secretary Jiji Thomson clarified in the notice that Jacob’s comment regarding the bar bribery case had again put the government in the dock. The letter also mentioned that DGP failed to receive  a previous notice sent following his comments regarding his transfer.

Jacob's response to the Vigilance Court order was that “the truth has won and it is the right decision of the court to pass the order. FIR was registered on the basis of prima facie evidence that corruption was committed.”
As Jacob’s remarks turned controversial, DGP Sen Kumar also came out in the open with criticism against him. But then also he did some plain speaking, saying he didn’t know the definition of discipline. “I didn’t know that I should come with my mouth gagged with a cello tape while talking to media persons. But that is not a right practice,” he had said sarcastically.
