KASARGOD: The UDF has called for hartal at Panatthadi panchayat on Wednesday. The front has called for hartal to protest against the altercation during the polling day on Monday in which CPM activists are said to have assaulted Congress Mandalam president Devasya. The hartal will be from morning 6 to midnight 12.
At Mananthavadi in Wayanad, CPM workers will lay siege to the police station, demanding the release of five CPM men who were taken into custody following a clash with Congress workers.
At Payyannur Vayakkara panchayat in Kannur, an anonymous gang assaulted a UDF booth agent injuring his eye. The victim is Thavidussery Booth No One agent Pavithran. The culprits are yet to be identified and the victim has been admitted to hospital.
