On what basis notice was sent, asks DGP Jacob Thomas

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Intensifying the rift with the government, Police Housing Construction Corporation MD DGP Jacob Thomas furnished a letter to chief secretary Jiji Thomson requesting him to make clear on what basis a show cause notice was served to him.

The government had served a notice on Thomas last week also for his public statement which had put the government in an embarrassing situation soon after he was transferred from the fire force. Though the notice was not accepted by Jacob Thomas, he gave a letter to the chief secretary asking to make clear his offence. Have I done anything wrong to accept disciplinary action? Does the government have any evidences to prove my fault?  If any, they should disclose it. However, the chief secretary replied and sought a reply for the notice. If the explanation is not satisfying, further steps will be taken after forming a disciplinary panel. Then only evidences against him will be provided, he said.

Without accepting the first notice and after his controversial statement before the media in connection with the vigilance court verdict in the bar case, a fresh notice was served. Thomas had openly stated that truth has been proved in the bar case. The fresh notice served has given him 15 days’ time to explain his stand on his open response.
