Terrorist Waqas stayed in the homestay of murder accused: Police

KOTTAYAM: Secret Intelligence agency has found out that terrorist Waqas stayed in the homestay run by a murder accused in Munnar. He lived in Wellvenue homestay on Colony road in Munnar.

Last September he had come to stay in the homestay. He stayed here under the name of Jameel Shafeequil,27, from Selhi Vildipur. He had told the cottage owner that Waqas is his brother-in-law. Jameel also gave his Delhi address to the cottage and paid Rs 65000 towards rent.

The police found out that for two months Waqas stayed here for the above-mentioned rent and after that he stayed in the same place for about ten days, paying Rs 300 per day.

Akthar was given accommodation for two weeks in another place in Munnar route. The place is 2km away from Munnar Police camp.

Jameel absconding

Jameel reached Munnar three years ago. He worked in Guru hotel and left after a quarrel with the hotel owner. Later he started his own business as a wayside vendor.

For the past two weeks he has been absconding. The news about his disappearance came out on the day after Holy. His mobile phone, according to the police, is switched off and it is suspected that he has terror links.
