If UDF loses, Chandy will lose job: P C George

KOTTAYAM:  PC George has said that if the UDF doesn’t win the Lok Sabha seats in the State by a good margin, a group in the Congress will ensure that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is no more in his job. “If the UDF fails, it will be viewed as the failure of the chief minister,” he said in an interview to Kerala Kaumudi.

George said he didn’t feel that a reshuffle in the cabinet would happen soon after the election because many are against including those who resigned their cabinet posts. “Moreover, the cabinet will lose balance community-wise, resulting in more representation from a particular community. Or else, either Forest minister or Home Minister will have to resign. If the chief minister survives the ‘election current’, somebody from RSP will become a minister in the place of Shibu John.”

When asked about Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan’s sudden change of stand,  Geroge said his U-turn had ruined his image among the pro-leftist. “This change of stand may not be for politburo positions but because of the thought that he is 92 and there is no scope for anymore fight with the party leadership,” he added.
