KOCHI: The government Monday filed an appeal in the division bench of the Kerala High Court to expunge remarks made by the single bench against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in connection with the land deal case involving former gunman Salim Raj. The plea filed by advocate general K P Dandapani says the observation made was without following judicial discipline.
The judge’s observations against the chief minister were untimely. The remarks of the judge were like those of the opposition. The court was not willing to hear the version of the chief minister and his office. The court just considered whether a CBI probe was necessary or not. However, the single bench exceeded all that and mentioned the solar case and Saritha S Nair in the verdict.
The Supreme Court had directed not to make any remarks against individuals. The high court harshly criticized the chief minister violating all that. Violation of social justice was seen from the side of the high court.
The appeal was filed after chief minister held talks with the advocate general at the Aluva Palace Monday morning.
