Kilimanoor accident: Second victim also dies

KILIMANOOR: Second victim in the Kilimanoor Mahadeveshwaram Junction accident succumbed to injuries on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was Vishnu alias Harikrishnan, 20, a resident of Kailasam kunnu Vilangara J K Bhavan. He was under treatment in Gokulam Medical College.

Another victim of the accident Anu alias Aneesh, 25, from Malakkal, Panappamkunnu Mavuvila Vipanchika had died on Tuesday.

The incident happened at 4pm on the day when both were travelling on bike from Kilimanoor to Thattathumala. They met with the accident when they tried to overtake a Maruthi car. A jeep that came in the opposite direction knocked them down. Since the Maruthi car had applied sudden break they were not run over by the car.

The fall turned out to be fatal as there was severe loss of blood from head injuries. They lay on the road for about 10 minutes in that condition before they were shifted to Gokulam medical college in a jeep. In between some one had tried to call ‘108’ ambulance but it failed to reach the spot in time to save the victims. Aneesh died on Wednesday and Harikrishnan died today.
