THRISSUR: Congress leader PT Thomas MP was admitted to Thrissur Jubilee hospital in the wee hours of Thursday after he developed severe chest pain. Angioplasty was performed on him at around 2pm. There were two blocks in his heart, and the serious one was removed. The hospital authorities have said that his conditional is stable.
Thomas was travelling in Kasargode-bound Maveli Express train from Ernakulam. When the train reached Chalakkudy, he experienced severe chest pain. Those who accompanied him informed the TTR, who conveyed the matter to Thrissur station.
A team of doctors led by cardiologist Dr Bino Benjamin tended to him. In the morning Chief Minister Oommen Chandy visited Thomas in the hospital.
